Jennifer, the designer behind Penelope Handmade, named the company for her great-grandmother, Penelope Eleanor (who was most commonly called, Mama Nell) and creates patterns to inspire you to create your very own heirlooms, building your own legacy of beauty and comfort. Mama Nell was a seamstress and would sew for Jennifer's mother, "a dress before she woke up in the morning." She passed that love of creating and making on to Jennifer's grandmother, Elma Ruth, and her mother.  "It is a legacy I hope will live on in my daughter, Eleanor Ruth."

The Iris quilt pattern is an all-time favorite of mine! It is suitable for beginners and comes together fairly quickly. It is such a versatile pattern with many variations!
