Advanced Beginner Knitting: Socks
Socks are a basic staple from our knitting bag, for over 1000 years!! We will make top down socks, knit in the round, with heel flaps and gussets. Find a beautiful 100 gm skein of sock yarn and make some treasures! With a bit of knitting at home, you should complete the first sock by the end of class and be ready to finish the mate on your own!
Requirements: Student should confidently know how to cast-on, knit, purl, and basic increases and decreases. Some familiarity with working in the round is beneficial but not required, if you are adventurous.

Pattern provided.
Yarn: 100 gm/400m sock yarn
Needles: US size 1 dpns or 24 in circular needles for magic loop
3 stitch markers; tapestry needle.
Schedule: Three Saturdays in a row at 10AM - 12PM MST
Week 1 Nov 8 - Reading the pattern, knitting in the round, cast on, knit the “leg”.
Week 2 Nov 15 - Turning the heel.
Week 3 Nov 22 - Foot and toe. Kitchener stitch.
