Silk Blend
2025 marks Silk Blend's 18th anniversary - a heritage Manos yarn that is a staple in every maker's repertoire. Silk Blend is a classic and elegant yarn, it has the unbelievable softness of merino extrafine (non superwash) and the subtle glow of raw silk. The Tussah silk, produced by worms that feed on oak and similar tree leaves, is rich in tannins that give it a beautiful golden shine in luxurious semi-solid shades and space-dyed shades.
Silk Bend is a single ply yarn that knits up clean and with a wonderful stitch definition for cables and other texture patterns. Its jewel-like colors work beautifully in stranded colorwork designs.
Fiber Content: 70% extrafine merino wool, 30% silk
Yardage: approx. 150 yds / 135 mts per 1.75 oz / 50 g
Gauge: DK yarn; 22 - 24 sts = 4" / 10 cm
Needle Size: US 4 - 6 / 3.5 - 4.25 mm
Care Instructions: Hand wash in cold water. Dry flat.
